State Grid Corporation of China: Accelerate the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things in the second half of the year

Since the company fully launched the construction of the Ubiquitous Electric Internet of Things (UEIoT), all departments and subsidiaries have taken proactive actions and carried out in-depth implementation, achieving remarkable results.
Orderly Progress of Various Tasks
The corporate headquarters strengthened overall planning, communication and coordination, and comprehensively advanced work including planning, scheme design and standard formulation.
Act swiftly and maintain firm confidence. All subsidiaries took proactive initiatives and continuously innovated working approaches. All departments kept the company’s overall interests in mind, built consensus, gradually deepened understanding of co-construction and sharing, unified standards, business integration and data sharing, and formed joint working forces.
Conduct meticulous organization and scientific planning. The 2019 construction plan was issued, arranging 57 construction tasks, 25 comprehensive demonstration tasks and 160 self-developed expansion tasks in a coordinated manner. A three-year plan (2019–2021) as well as three special plans covering application systems, data platforms and cybersecurity were formulated. In accordance with the principle of “continuation and postponement”, information technology demands were reorganized, and project initiation and feasibility reviews were completed.
Strengthen coordination and collaboration with standards as a priority. Rules of procedure were formulated for the Office of Building a World-Class Energy Internet Enterprise. A joint consultation and co-construction platform was established; special plans were compiled and their implementation initiated. A technical standard system for the Ubiquitous Electric Internet of Things and an evaluation indicator system for energy internet enterprises were set up, and the compilation of 47 core standards, protocols and interface specifications was launched.
Promote communication and collaboration to foster a sound atmosphere. Relevant headquarters departments pooled wisdom and worked closely together, adopting multiple measures to deliver fruitful outcomes. Thirty-five exchange forums were held with 22 well-known domestic internet companies and central state-owned enterprises to draw on their experience and practices. Multi-channel efforts to advance the construction of the Ubiquitous Electric Internet of Things were carried out via activities such as youth innovation competitions. Active promotion of the Ubiquitous Electric Internet of Things was conducted in international exchanges and cooperation, winning positive responses from multinational enterprises and institutions.
Steady Advancement of Key Tasks
Relevant headquarters departments and grassroots units conducted extensive communication, coordination and effective practical work during project implementation.
In terms of improving business quality and efficiency: the optimization and improvement plan for integrated business and distribution was finalized, with tasks clarified and fully launched. The pilot operation of the “Online State Grid” in Zhejiang Province was completed, and the nationwide rollout as well as the overall design of the customer service business platform were initiated. The overall design of the power grid resource business platform was launched, alongside the construction of the transmission and distribution Internet of Things. Specialized solutions including multi-dimensional lean cost management were designed. Fifth, the overall design of the digital infrastructure platform was finished and pilot construction started. The headquarters rolled out mobile office applications on the internal network, and provincial subsidiaries completed the integration of mobile operation terminals.
In terms of developing emerging businesses: the New Energy Cloud construction plan was finalized, an on-site promotion conference held, and pilot construction launched. The design of the intelligent IoT platform for electrical equipment was initiated, and the construction of intelligent operation centers pushed forward. Discussions were held with telecom operators and other enterprises on commercial operation models and interconnection technical standards for resources such as communication towers and optical fibers.
